Why produce THC Liquid yourself?

The idea of producing THC Liquid yourself is tempting for many cannabis fans. The main reason? You have full control over the end product. Instead of relying on ready-made Liquids, where you don't always know exactly which ingredients are included, you decide for yourself how strong your Liquid should be and what quality it has.

Another advantage is its discretion: THC Liquid produces no smoke, only vapour, which is much less noticeable and dissipates quickly. This makes it ideal for consumption at home or on the go. You can also save money by making it yourself. The production costs are generally lower than buying ready-made products.

And finally, there's the creativity: you can experiment with different blends and flavours to create your personal favourite liquid. Whether you prefer a stronger effects or a mild vapour - the possibilities are almost endless.

What you need for THC Liquid

Before you start making your THC Liquids, you should have all the necessary materials and ingredients ready. Good preparation not only makes the process easier, but also ensures a better result. Here is everything you need in detail:

Materials in detail:

- Heat-resistant glass jar: The glass jar is needed to safely heat the cannabis mixture in the water bath. It should be easy to close so that nothing is spilt. Preserving jars or heat-resistant laboratory jars are ideal.

- Fine sieve or coffee filter: To filter out the plant residue, you need a tool that is really fine. A double filter (sieve plus coffee filter) provides the best results as it reliably catches small particles.

- Syringe or pipette: This allows you to fill the finished Liquid cleanly and precisely into small vials. Alternatively, an empty liquid bottle with a thin tip is also suitable.

- Saucepan or bain-marie: A small saucepan is ideal for heating the mixture. Make sure that you can control the temperature well. A bain-marie ensures even heat and prevents overheating.

Ingredients in detail:

- Cannabis flowers or concentrates: The choice of base determines the quality of your Liquids. For Flowers: Choose high-quality, well-dried material. For concentrates: Wax, Shatter or Rosin are ideal as they are particularly pure and potent.

- Propylene glycol (PG): This colourless, tasteless liquid is a proven carrier that binds THC well. It also provides the gentle "hit" that you feel when vaping.

- Vegetable glycerine (VG): VG is often mixed with PG to make the vapour denser. A mixing ratio of 70 % PG to 30 % VG is a good starting point.

- EJMix (optional): A special product for concentrates that works particularly well if you don't want to use Flowers. It helps to dilute the concentrate evenly without leaving any residue.

Extras that can help:

- Kitchen thermometer: To precisely control the temperature in the water bath. THC is destroyed at too high temperatures, so caution is advised.

- Clean work surface: A clean and well-organised working environment makes the whole process easier. Keep rags or kitchen paper to hand in case of spillages.

Once you have everything you need, you're ready to go! In the next section, we explain step by step how to make your THC Liquid from Flowers or concentrates.

Instructions: Produce THC Liquid from Flowers - step by step

The production of THC Liquid from cannabis flowers may seem complex at first, but with the right instructions it's really easy. Here we guide you through the entire process, from preparing the Flowers to the finished Liquid. With a little patience and care, you can create a high-quality product that perfectly suits your needs.

Step 1: Preparation of the Flowers decarboxylation

Before THC can unfold its full effects, you have to decarboxylate the cannabis flowers. This is a necessary step, as THC in its natural form (THCA) is not psychoactive. THCA is converted into THC through controlled heating. This is how it works:

1. Flowers crush: Carefully crumble the Flowers with your fingers or a grinder. They should remain coarse enough so that they do not slip through the filter, but small enough to allow good heat distribution.

2. Prepare the baking tray: Line a baking tray with baking paper and spread the Flowers on it. Make sure that they are not on top of each other so that the heat is even.

3. Heat in the oven: Set the oven to 110-120 °C (never higher) and bake the Flowers for around 30-40 minutes. Open the oven door occasionally to let the moisture escape and stir the Flowers carefully.

4. Leave to cool: Take the baking tray out of the oven and leave the Flowers to cool to room temperature.

📝 Tipp: Decarboxylation is crucial. If you skip this step or set the temperature too high, your Liquid will not have the desired effects.

Step 2: Prepare the mixture

After decarboxylation, the Flowers are ready to release their THC into the carrier liquid. To do this, mix them with propylene glycol (PG) and, depending on your preference, also with vegetable glycerine (VG). This is how you proceed:

1. Flowers into the glass: Pour the cooled Flowers into a heat-resistant glass container.

2. Add carrier fluid: Pour propylene glycol (PG) over the Flowers. A mixing ratio of 1 part Flowers to 2 parts PG is ideal, as it provides a good balance between THC content and consistency.

3. Optional VG: If you want a denser and softer vapour, you can also add VG. A mixing ratio of 70 % PG to 30 % VG ensures good vapour formation.

Step 3: Heat in a bain-marie

The next step is to heat the mixture so that the THC is released from the Flowers. A water bath is the best method as it guarantees even and gentle heating.

1. Heat the water: Fill a pan with water and bring it to a temperature of around 80-90 °C. A kitchen thermometer will help you to keep the temperature constant.

2. Place the glass in the water bath: Carefully place the glass jar with the mixture in the water. Make sure that no water gets into the glass.

3. Let the mixture steep: Leave the mixture to infuse in a water bath for around 2 hours. Stir gently from time to time so that the THC is evenly distributed.

4. Check temperature: Keep the temperature constant. Too high a heat can destroy the THC and make your Liquid less effective.

📝 Tip: If you have an electric bain-marie or a slow cooker, you can make this process even easier and more precise.

Step 4: Filtering the mixture

After the mixture has been heated sufficiently, it is time to separate the liquid from the plant residues. This leaves only the pure THC Liquid:

1. Leave to cool: Allow the mixture to cool to room temperature before filtering it. Hot liquids can damage the filter or make your work more difficult.

2. Filtern: Pour the mixture through a fine sieve or coffee filter into a clean glass container. For a particularly clear result, you can repeat the filtering process.

3. Squeeze out the leftovers: Squeeze the plant remains carefully to extract as much liquid as possible.

Step 5: Filling and storing

Now your THC Liquid is almost ready! All that's missing is bottling and proper storage.

1. Filling: Fill the filtered Liquid into small vials using a syringe or pipette.

2. Beschriften: Label the vials clearly so that there is no confusion. You can also note the concentration or the date of manufacture.

3. Lagern: Store your Liquid in a cool, dark place to preserve its quality and effectiveness.

📝 Tip: Your THC Liquid stays fresh for longer in dark glass vials.

Producing THC Liquid with concentrates - the faster alternative

If the production of THC Liquid from Flowers is too time-consuming for you or you are already working with concentrates such as wax, shatter or rosin, there is a simpler method. This option saves you time and is less labour-intensive as you can skip the decarboxylation and filtering.

What you need:

- Cannabis concentrates (e.g. Wax, Shatter or Rosin)

- Propylene glycol (PG) or a special thinner such as EJMix

- A heat-resistant glass or small bowl

- A bain-marie or saucepan

Step 1: Prepare the concentrate

Choose a high-quality concentrate for your Liquid. The dosage depends on your preference, but as a starting point you can mix 1 gram of concentrate with 2 millilitres of propylene glycol (PG) or diluent.

Step 2: Heat the mixture in a bain-marie

1. Pour the concentrate together with the thinner into a heat-resistant glass or small bowl.

2. Place the mixture in a water bath and heat it to approx. 60-70 °C. Be careful not to let the temperature get too high so as not to impair the quality of the THC.

3. Stir the mixture carefully until the concentrate has completely dissolved in the thinner. This normally only takes a few minutes.

Step 3: Filling and storing

Once the mixture is completely homogeneous, fill it into small bottles using a syringe or pipette. Label the bottles and store them in a cool, dark place to preserve the quality.

Advantages of the method with concentrates:

- Zeitsparend: No long heating or filtering necessary.

- Efficient THC content: Concentrates already contain a high proportion of THC, which makes dosing easier.

- Simple process: Fewer work steps and less susceptibility to errors.

This method is particularly practical for experienced users who already have concentrates available or are looking for a quick solution.
